Oladipo added 13 points, Jordan Hulls scored 12 and Verdell Jones III had 10 for the Hoosiers.

Green Bay holds on against Philly, goes to Atlanta next while Bears get Seattle.
PHILADELPHIA—The Bears now know they will host the Seattle Seahawks next Sunday at noon in the NFC Divisional Playoffs.Forget the Eagles. Aaron Rodgers threw three touchdown passes, seldom-used rookie James Starks ran for 123 yards and the Green Bay Packers beat Michael Vick and Philadelphia 21-16 in an NFC wild-card game Sunday.Rodgers had to watch from the sideline while Vick nearly led the Eagles back. But Tramon Williams intercepted Vick’s pass for Riley Cooper in the end zone with 33 seconds left to seal the win.The sixth-seeded Packers (11-6) are heading to Atlanta (13-3) for a divisional playoff game next Saturday night.Rodgers patiently waited three years to become Green Bay’s starter and took over after Brett Favre’s messy departure before the 2008 season. He long ago made Packers fans forget about Favre, and now has punctuated his impressive resume with his first playoff win in two tries. It wasn’t Rodgers’ fault Green Bay lost 51-45 in overtime to Arizona last January. These aren’t the same Packers. This patchwork squad has 10 different starters, and a much stronger defense.Clay Matthews, Charles Woodson and Co. contained Vick for the most part. Vick threw for 292 yards and ran for 33 in his first playoff start since losing the 2005 NFC championship game on the same field as a member of the Atlanta Falcons.Vick has come a long way since then. He missed two seasons while serving 18 months in prison for his role in a dogfighting operation, played sparingly in a backup role last year and only got his chance after Matthews knocked Kevin Kolb out in Green Bay’s 27-20 win in Philadelphia in Week 1.Vick made the most of the opportunity. He had the best season of his career and was selected to start the Pro Bowl for the NFC.Vick can go to Hawaii now because the Eagles (10-7) are going home. This was Green Bay’s third straight win in an elimination game. The Packers routed the Giants on Dec. 26 to stay alive in the playoff race, and beat Chicago last week to secure a playoff berth. The Eagles were the talk of the NFL after a sensational comeback win at the New York Giants on Dec. 19. But a stunning loss to lowly Minnesota on Dec. 28 cost the NFC East champions a chance at a first-round bye, and it seemed their Super Bowl hopes went down with that defeat. Then again, the Eagles might have advanced if Pro Bowl kicker David Akers hadn’t missed field goals of 41 and 34 yards. The supposedly one-dimensional Packers found a running game by giving the ball to Starks. The sixth-round pick who played in just three games had 101 yards rushing all year. The Packers had trouble running all year after Ryan Grant went down for the season in Week 1. But they exposed weaknesses in Philadelphia’s defense. The Eagles got within 21-16 when Vick sneaked in from the 1 with 4:02 left. The 2-point conversion failed, but the defense held and Philadelphia got the ball back at the Packers 34 with 1:45 left.Vick completed passes of 28 yards to DeSean Jackson and 11 yards to Cooper before he threw the pick from the 27.Vick had 175 yards passing and 103 rushing in the season opener against Green Bay, nearly rallying the Eagles back from a 17-point deficit. He said afterward that he wished he played the whole game because he thought the outcome would’ve been different. He had his chance, and fell short.Down 14-3, the Eagles got back in it when their struggling defense forced a turnover on the first possession of the second half. Darryl Tapp knocked the ball out of Rodgers’ hands and Juqua Parker recovered at the Packers 24.Vick then made a perfect 24-yard TD pass over the middle to Jason Avant, who was surrounded by four defenders, to cut it to 14-10.But Green Bay responded with a methodical, in-your-face drive. Rodgers threw a 16-yard TD pass to Brandon Jackson to complete the 80-yard drive and extend the lead to 21-10. Jackson waited nicely for his blockers on a perfectly executed screen pass. The Eagles failed to convert on third-and-1 from the Packers 16 early in the fourth and Akers was wide right from 34 yards out.The Packers went ahead 7-0 late in first quarter on Rodgers’ 7-yard TD pass to Tom Crabtree. Rodgers kept the drive going by scrambling away from trouble and tossing a 9-yard pass to John Kuhn on third-and-7. He found a wide-open Crabtree on the next play. It was the first career TD for Crabtree, who had just four catches the entire season.Rodgers used his legs again on Green Bay’s next drive. His 9-yard TD pass to James Jones made it 14-0.Rodgers niftily sidestepped Parker to avoid a sack on a third-and-2 and tossed a 4-yard pass to Quinn Johnson. He eluded the blitz and ran for 8 yards on third-and-5. Then he escaped pressure and connected with Jones on the run for the score. The Eagles finally got going on the ensuing possession. Vick ran 14 yards on third-and-10 to give Philadelphia a first down at the Packers 16. But the drive stalled and Akers kicked a 29-yard field goal with 1:11 left in the half. The Packers should’ve led 21-3 at halftime except Jones dropped a perfectly thrown deep pass in the final minute that would’ve been a 63-yard TD. Jones beat Asante Samuel on a fly pattern, but the ball bounced out of his hands.Jones had issues with drops during the season. A disappointed Rodgers fell to his knees and put his hands on his helmet when he saw the ball hit the ground. The Eagles had trouble picking up the blitz in recent weeks and the Packers took advantage right away. Desmond Bishop blew past the line untouched from Vick’s blind side and sacked him for a 9-yard loss on the first play from scrimmage. Philadelphia had to punt and then got the first break.Brandon Underwood accidentally kicked the ball and the Eagles recovered at the Packers 41. But they didn’t capitalize on the opportunity as Akers missed from 41.The Packers were preseason favorites to reach the Super Bowl, but a slew of injuries took a toll. Fifteen players went on injured reserve, with Grant and tight end Jermichael Finley among the six starters. The Eagles lost two key starters — center Jamaal Jackson and fullback Leonard Weaver — for the year in Week 1. Starting safety Nate Allen also was among 10 Philadelphia players on IR
Ravens blow out Chiefs, face Steelers next
Ray Lewis, Ed Reed and the rest of the battle-tested Baltimore Ravens rattled the Knasas City Chiefs into five turnovers and held their offense to 25 yards in the second half in a 30-7 playoff victory Sunday.Joe Flacco threw two touchdown passes and Billy Cundiff kicked three field goals as the offense pounced on the scoring chances created by the Ravens’ smothering, veteran defense.Baltimore (13-4) broke open a close game with a touchdown and two field goals off turnovers in the second half. Kansas City (10-7), which set a club record with a six-game improvement to win the AFC West, now go into the NFL record book as the only team to lose seven postseason games in a row.The Ravens also shook off the family tragedy that Reed has dealt with since Friday morning, when the Pro Bowl safety’s brother apparently disappeared into the Mississippi River. After the game, Reed was presented with the game ball. Reed called his teammates his second family whose support is helping him get through this ordeal.Baltimore will hit the road again to play AFC North rival Pittsburgh on Saturday in the third matchup against the Steelers this season. The bitter rivals split their seasons series, with each winning on the other’s home field. The Ravens led only 10-7 in the third quarter when Kansas City lost a fourth-and-inches gamble and then collapsed, quickly.Dawan Landry stopped the play, throwing Jamaal Charles for a 5-yard loss. On the next play, Tamba Hali drew a 15-yard penalty for a late hit on Flacco and the Ravens drove in for Cundiff’s 29-yard field goal, making it 13-7 with 6:36 left in the third.A moment later, Lewis put a jarring hit on Dexter McCluster, knocking the ball loose. Chris Carr recovered on the Kansas City 17, leading to another 29-yarder by Cundiff. hen, a harried Cassel was intercepted by Landry, who angled left to the 21. An illegal block call on Baltimore’s Cody Redding pushed the Ravens back 10 yards, but Flacco made sure to convert this opportunity into a touchdown. On second down, he connected with Willis McGahee for 20 yards, then followed with a 13-yard completion to tight end Todd Heap, who had 10 catches for 108 yards. On second-and-4, Flacco fired it over the middle to Anquan Boldin in the back of the end zone, beating cornerback Brandon Flowers and giving the Ravens a 23-7 lead. With a little more than four minutes left in the game, McGahee went over the middle on fourth-and-1 and broke into the secondary, dragging a tackler with him into the end zone at the end of a 25-yard run.Charles gave the Chiefs a 7-3 lead in the first quarter with a 41-yard scoring run after Tamba Hali sacked and stripped the ball from Flacco, recovering it himself. The Chiefs’ postseason drought stretches to the AFC Championship Game at Buffalo in January 1994. The losing streak includes four different coaches.
Rose,Bulls bounce back to knock off Celtics 90-79
Derrick Rose scored 36 points, Carlos Boozer added 22 points and 10 rebounds, and the Bulls cooled off the Boston Celtics with a 90-79 victory on Saturday night.Rose set career highs for free throws made and attempted with a 15-for-19 performance from the line, driving by Rajon Rondo over and over again before usually drawing contact from one or more of Boston’s big men. Rondo and Jermaine O’Neal each finished the game with five fouls and Shaquille O’Neal had four.Paul Pierce had 21 points and Ray Allen added 19 for Boston, which had won four straight and five of seven. The Celtics also dropped to 5-2 since star forward Kevin Garnett went out with a right calf injury. The Bulls, trying to avoid a season-worst third straight loss, grabbed control with a 9-1 run that started at the end of the third and carried over into the fourth. Boozer capped the spurt with a jumper that gave the Bulls a 73-65 lead.Rose carried the Bulls home from there. He hit consecutive jumpers with 5 minutes remaining to extend the lead to double digits and again heard chants of “MVP! MVP!” from the United Center crowd when his 3-pointer in the final minute made it 90-77.Rondo finished with 13 points and eight assists for Boston, which dropped to 2-1 against the this season. The Celtics forced 21 turnovers but were outrebounded 48-27.The Bulls ripped through December and carried it over into 2011, winning 14 of 16 while playing against some of the worst teams in the league. The surge included four victories over lowly Cleveland and Toronto, and 13 games against teams that began Saturday with a sub.-500 record. The Bulls successful run ended Wednesday at New Jersey, when coach Tom Thibodeau left Boozer on the bench for the entire fourth quarter in a 96-94 loss. Then the 76ers avenged last month’s 45-point loss at the United Center with a 105-99 victory in Philadelphia on Friday night. So it looked bleak for the Bulls, with the Eastern Conference-leading Celtics coming to town for the Bulls sixth game in nine days.Thibodeau’s team responded with a gritty effort, led by Rose.Jermaine O’Neal, playing with a sore right knee, made two free throws to give Boston a 30-26 lead with 8:10 left in the second quarter. But the Bulls responded with a 9-2 spurt, powered by an impressive stretch from Boozer. After two nifty moves inside, he hit a turnaround jumper to give the Bulls a 32-30 lead. Boston called timeout and Rondo tied it again with a driving layup before Boozer converted a three-point play to put the Bulls in front again.Boozer later made a nice pass inside to Ronnie Brewer, who converted a reverse layup despite a foul by Allen. Brewer’s free throw gave the Bulls a 40-34 lead with 3:32 left in the second.Brewer finished with 10 points and Luol Deng had nine after getting off to a rough start.
NOTES—Celtics rookie Luke Harangody, who set career highs with 17 points and 11 rebounds in the victory over Toronto, failed to score in 13 minutes. …Bears wide receivers Devin Hester and Johnny Knox, cornerback Danieal Manning and kicker Robbie Gould all attended the game. The Bears earned a bye in the first round of the playoffs. … Director Ron Howard also was at the game. … Garnett, averaging 15 points and 9.5 rebounds, could be back next week.
Late Folk field goal helps Jets stun Colts prevent defense. Both Super Bowl teams from last year are gone.
INDIANAPOLIS—Nick Folk kicked a 32-yard field goal as time expired Saturday night, giving the New York Jets a 17-16 first-round playoff victory over the Indianapolis Colts.New York (12-5) now heads to New England for a third meeting next Sunday. The Colts (11-6), AFC champions last year over the Jets, thought they had won it when Adam Vinatieri made a 50-yard field goal with 53 seconds left, his longest kick since 2008.But the Jets got a 47-yard kickoff return from Antonio Cromartie and Mark Sanchez set up the field goal with an 18-yard pass to Braylon Edwards at the Colts 14. New York called timeout with 3 seconds to go, and Folk hit the winner.New York’s LaDainian Tomlinson rushed 16 times for 82 yards and scored two TDs, both on 1-yard runs.Peyton Manning was 18 of 26 for 225 yards and one TD.
Seahawks stun Saints 41-36, New Orleans dethroned.
SEATTLE—For a team that was the joke of the NFL playoffs, look who’s laughing now.Pete Carroll, Matt Hasselbeck and a Seattle team no one believed deserved to be in the postseason pulled off one of the biggest upsets with a 41-36 victory over the defending Super Bowl champion New Orleans Saints on Saturday.Who dat say the Seahawks don’t belong? Hasselbeck threw four touchdown passes and Marshawn Lynch scored on an electrifying 67-yard run with 3:22 left, and the party was on at the NFL’s loudest stadium. The Seahawks (8-9) held a 34-20 early in the fourth quarter before Drew Brees looked ready to lead the Saints (11-6) on one of their patented comebacks. But Lynch broke about a half-dozen tackles for his TD to finish off the Saints. The Seahawks, the first division winner with a losing record, will play the No. 2 seeded Bears next Sunday at Soldier Field in a rematch of a three point Seahawks regular season Oactober win. Hasselbeck, cleared to play just two days ago because of a hip injury, threw for 272 yards and his four TD passes set a playoff career high. The veteran quarterback threw two touchdown passes to tight end John Carlson in the first half and started the second half with a 38-yard strike to Mike Williams to give Seattle a 31-20 lead. The game wasn’t clinched until Lynch provided a run that’ll be replayed in the Pacific Northwest for years. He took a second-down carry with less than four minutes to go and then the highlights began. He broke six tackles on the 67-yard run, tossing in a massive stiff arm that sent cornerback Tracy Porter to the turf and completed the longest scoring run of his career.Lynch finished with 131 yards on 19 carries, the first Seattle back to top 100 yards all season.Hasselbeck, Lynch and a strong performance by Seattle’s offense extended the Saints franchise misery to 0-4 in road playoff games.Drew Brees was, well, Drew Brees, but without a credible run game and a terrible defensive effort, the Saints couldn’t do enough to beat a 7-9 team. Plenty of questionable coaching decisions as well such as going for it on fourth-and-inches in their own territory. Up 10-0, the Saints had a chance to bury the Seahawks, but instead they allowed an inferior team to rally. Matt Hasselbeck was spectacular with four TD passes, Marshawn Lynch iced the game with one of the best TD runs you’ll ever see, and the defense, after getting torched early, came up with some big stops when the Seahawks needed it. A lot of credit goes to the coverage units as well, which constantly pinned the Saints inside their own 20 all day.The Saints were considered the second-best team in the division behind the NFC South-winning Falcons. Even though they lost to Tampa Bay in the season finale a week ago and were without running backs Pierre Thomas and Chris Ivory, safety Malcolm Jenkins and linebacker Danny Clark, the Saints were favored by 10 points to advance. Now they go home.Brees and the Saints just couldn’t keep up with Hasselbeck and the Seahawks offense. Brees led one final drive, hitting Devery Henderson on a 6-yard touchdown with 1:30 left to get within 41-36.Brees finished 39 of 60 for 404 yards and two touchdowns. But DeShawn Wynn was stopped on the 2-point conversion, Garrett Hartley’s onside kick was recovered by Carlson and the Seahawks were home free.
Hawks escape Sens with 3-2 shootout win
The struggling Blackhawks showed some long-awaited resilience.Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane scored on the first two attempts in the shootout, and the Blackhawks recovered after losing a late lead to beat the Ottawa Senators 3-2 on Friday.Toews and Kane had goals against Brian Elliott in the tiebreaker. Corey Crawford survived Alexei Kovalev‘s wide shot and Daniel Alfredsson‘s shot that hit the post in the shootout.Ottawa’s Milan Michalek backhanded in a rebound with 1:25 left in regulation, while Elliott was off for a sixth skater, to tie the game at 2 and force overtime. Crawford stopped Chris Campoli’s drive from the left point, but Michalek shoveled in the loose puck from the crease. The Hawks, 1-4 in five games before Friday, appeared headed toward another disappointing finish.Kane also scored in regulation, and Patrick Sharp added his team-leading 24th goal.Kane, who is still finding his stride after injuring an ankle injury in December, had put the Blackhawks ahead 2-1 at 7:50 of the third with an unassisted goal. He stole the puck from Ottawa defenseman Erik Karlsson and broke in alone.Kane, who led the Hawks last season with 88 points, hadn’t scored since Nov. 30. He missed seven games in December because of an ankle injury and didn’t score in seven in which he played. The Blackhawks improved to 4-8-1 in games that are tied after two periods. Their inability to take charge in the third has hurt them all season.Alfredsson had a power-play goal in regulation for Ottawa, 0-2-2 in its last four. The Senators managed to earn a point when it looked like as though they were headed for a regulation loss.Crawford made 24 saves in his fourth consecutive start. Elliott, in his eighth straight outing, also stopped 24.Alfredsson opened the scoring 49 seconds into the second period with a a power-play goal when his high screened shot from the right circle sailed past Crawford’s blocker. The goal was the fourth allowed by the Blackhawks in four straight short-handed situations. Dallas was 3 for 3 on the power play in a 4-2 win at the United Center on Wednesday.Sharp tied it at 1 on a deflection at 4:08. Brian Campbell fired from the right point, after controlling an Ottawa clearing attempt, and Sharp redirected the puck over Elliott’s glove. The Blackhawks started to dominate as the second period progressed. Elliott made several sharp saves, including ones on Fernando Pisani and Duncan Keith, to preserve the tie.Kane put the Hawks ahead 2-1 at 7:50 of the third.Kane knocked the puck off Karlsson’s stick just outside the Senators’ blue line, skated in and beat Elliott with a high shot on the glove side.
NOTES—The Blackhawks recalled 19-year-old D Nick Leddy from Rockford of the AHL. D Jassen Cullimore, 38, was sent to Rockford on Thursday. Leddy played for the U.S. in the World Junior Championship and got into six games with the Blackhawks at the start of the season…..Ottawa recalled G Robin Lehner from Binghamton of the AHL to back up Elliott……Sharp’s goal was his 150th in the NHL.
Boozer not benched this time, but Bulls still lose to Sixers
PHILADELPHIA—Jodie Meeks scored 24 points, Lou Williams had 20, and the Philadelphia 76ers avenged a 45-point loss at the United Center last month with a 105-99 victory over the Bulls on Friday night.Jrue Holiday added 19 for the 76ers, who lost 121-76 on Dec. 21 in Chicago. The Sixers believe they’re a playoff team and have the young nucleus to get there. Meeks and Holiday gave them plenty of reason for hope in a thrilling third quarter where the two guards combined to shoot 7-for-7 for 18 points. The Sixers hit their first nine shots in the third and 11 overall to turn a four-point hole into a 12-point lead.Holiday sizzled, drawing a foul on Derrick Rose on a driving layup for a three-point play that gave the Sixers the lead. Meeks busted out of a big slump with consecutive 3-pointers, the second off Holiday’s steal, that built it to 82-70.The Sixers needed that cushion in the fourth. The Bulls closed within five late in the quarter, then Holiday threw a blind pass into the hands of Kyle Korver. Rose made two free throws that cut it to 102-99. Former Bull Andres Nocioni, forced out of the first half with a finger injury, grabbed a key defensive rebound and hit two free throws for a 104-99 lead and the Sixers held on for the victory.Carlos Boozer shook off a fourth-quarter benching against New Jersey to lead the Bulls with 31 points. Rose had 27 and Luol Deng 22.After the Bulls, the Sixers start a stretch where they can pad their record against sub.-500 teams. A schedule that has Detroit, Indiana, Milwaukee and Charlotte before a Jan. 19 game at Orlando is a prime opportunity for the Sixers to climb back toward .500 and prove they are legitimate playoff contenders. The Sixers need to fit Andre Iguodala back into the mix when he returns next week. Iguodala missed his sixth straight games with Achilles’ tendinitis. The Bulls and Sixers were taking and making shots like a playground pickup game from the opening tip. Williams provided a fitting end to a wild half when he buried a 3 at the buzzer to cut the Bulls’ lead to 56-54 at the break. The long shot sparked the Sixers. Elton Brand, healthy and revitalized after two dismal seasons in Philadelphia, started the can’t-miss fun with a 15-footer. The Sixers hit pull-up jumpers and finger rolls to slice the Bulls lead.Holiday electrified a solid crowd with his three-point play on Rose, then hit a 19-footer to make the Sixers 8-for-8 in the quarter and give them a 71-66 lead.Sixers coach Doug Collins raved about the 20-year-old Holiday in the preseason and predicted he’d be one of the top-five point guards in the league next season.Too soon to move up that timetable? Holiday has scored 20-plus in five of the last seven games and has often been Philadelphia’s best player on the court. When Meeks is on his game, the two form a potent backcourt.Meeks — who began the season with a string of DNP-CDs — has started the last 18 games and played one of the best games of his career. When Holiday forced a turnover late in the third, he fed the ball to Meeks for a 3 and a nine-point lead.Meeks capped a 32-point quarter for the Sixers with a little runner for a 12-point lead. The Sixers shot 78 percent (14 for 18 overall; 3 of 4 3s) in the third.Hard to believe these two teams played some a lopsided game last month. The Bulls led 61-43 at halftime of that one. When they hit 62 points in the third on Friday, the Bulls only led by four.
NOTES—76ers C Tony Battie was inactive and will miss Saturday’s game at Detroit with right rotator cuff tendinitis. … Bulls assistant coach Rick Brunson was announced as part of the Big 5 Hall of Fame’s 2011 class. Brunson played for Temple from 1991-95 and ranks fifth on the school’s career list in assists (470). … Bulls assistant coach Ed Pinckney, who led Villanova to the 1985 national championship, said he’d still be calling 76ers games if not for a chance meeting with coach Tom Thibodeau. Pinckney said he now wants to be a head coach in the NBA or at the collegiate level.
Illini toy with struggling Wildcats
CHAMPAIGN—Northwestern has never made the NCAA Tournament, and has hoped to get that monkey off their backs this winter, but it’s not looking good. They fell behind 44-21 to No. 20 Illinois which went on to an easy 88-63 win at the Assembley Hall Thursday night.Demetri McCamey led the Illini with 14 points, and was one of six Illinois players to score in double figures. Mike Tisdale had 13, Davis 12, Meyers Leonard and Jereme Richmond 11 each and D.J. Richardson 10.The Illini (13-3, 3-0 Big Ten) led by 25 at the half, 49-24, and several times pushed their edge past 30 in the final 20 minutes. They hit 18 of their 22 first-half shots — 81.8 percent — and finished at 70.5 percent.Illinois toyed with Northwestern’s defense for much of the first half, rattling off a run of 3-pointers for a 9-2 lead, and added three straight dunks, the last of which came from the 7-foot-1 Tisdale and put Illinois up 42-19 with 2:32 left in the half.Illinois led 47-24 at the half and scored its 65th point — the Wildcats (9-4, 0-3) had been giving up 65.8 a game — less than seven minutes into the second half.NU’s problems were almost too many to count.Illinois outrebounded the Wildcats 40-17, and, at one point, had an 11-1 edge — an advantage that, with just under eight minutes to play in the first half had the Illini up 33-17.John Shurna, the Wildcats’ leading scorer at 21.3 a game and the country’s most accurate 3-point shooter, didn’t take a shot in the first 6 ½ minutes and didn’t make one until almost nine minutes had passed. Struggling with an ankle sprain, he spent most of the second half on the bench and finished with seven points.”He may not be 100 percent for three weeks,” Bill Carmody said. The Wildcats shot just 34.3 percent overall.McCamey and Davis finished with seven assists each.If there was any doubt the Illini would defend their 23-point lead when they left the locker room, Mike Davis erased it. The forward scored the first five points of the half — three on free throws and two on a short jumper — for a 52-24 lead.He keyed a 14-7 run that stretched the lead to 32 at 63-31 with 14:34 to play. And this was an Illini team that lost to Sister School UIC a couple of weeks ago in the United Center! NU struggled to get the deficit below 20 over the final 20 minutes. JerShon Cobb’s 3 with 2:38 to play trimmed Illinois’ lead to 19 at 78-59.Cobb led Northwestern (9-4, 0-3) with 18 points, and Juice Thompson had 15.
Illinois’ Demtri McCamey looks for an opening between Northwestern defenders as he works his way to scoring 14 points. (AP) |
Wright State pulls away from Flames
Vaughn Duggins scored 22 points and N’Gai Evans added 21 as part of Wright State’s 71-63 win over UIC on Thursday night. The Raiders (10-6, 3-1 Horizon) began with a 9-0 run and led by as many as 12 points early in the first half on their way to a fourth straight victory. The Flames (5-11, 0-4) powered back to tie it with 2:55 left in the half. They managed to pull ahead by four points just after intermission on back-to-back layups by Robo Kreps and Brad Birton.Wright State reclaimed the lead less than two minutes later on a jumper by Troy Tabler to make it 47-46. The Raiders never trailed again.Tabler and Cooper Land finished with 10 points each for the Raiders.Dipanjot Singh and Paul Carter led the Flames with 13 points apiece while Birton added 11.
