Late UWGB freethrow beats UIC 78-76

Turner Botz made a pair of free throws with one second remaining, lifting Green Bay to a 78-76 victory over UIC on Thursday night.After sinking the first free throw, Botz tried to miss the second, but banked it in. He then stole the inbounds pass.Paris Burns had given the Flames a 75-74 lead after his steal and layup before Khalil Small scored to put the Phoenix back on top with a minute left. Tai Odiase made 1 of 2 free throws for UIC to tie before Botz’s free throws.Jordan Fouse had 10 points, seven rebounds, six assists and five blocks for Green Bay (11-6, 4-1 Horizon). Small scored 15 points and Carrington Love 12.Odiase blocked a career-high eight shots and had nine rebounds and 12 points for the Flames (2-13, 0-4). Dikembe Dixson scored 19 points, Jake Wiegand 18 and Burns 15 for UIC.
