Absolutely horrible news in that former Bulls Broadcaster Jim Durham has passed away at his Texas Home at the age of 65. J.D. as he was known to friends, became the Bulls Play by Play man in 1973-74 and remained through 1990-91 which was the Bulls first Title Season. He left the Bulls over a contract dispute which many blamed on his agent.           After leaving the Bulls, he moved to Texas and Broadcast Dallas Mavericks game for a short time, and has since been a lead play by play announcer for NBA Games on Radio.

He also worked at WJBC doing Illinois State Games(when Doug Collins played there)and Illinois Wesleyan games.

He also spent time calling White Sox games on TV from 1989-90, was the TV voice of the Houston Astros from 1983-85.

In 2011, J.D. was awarded the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame’s Curt Gowdy Media Award.

One of the nicest and most talented P x P guys I knew. RIP J.D.
