DETROIT—Jason Calliste’s layup as time expired gave Detroit a 76-75 victory over Loyola on Tuesday night.Loyola had pulled ahead 75-74 on Jeff White’s layup with 9 seconds to play. After a timeout, Calliste made his game-winner to give Detroit seniors Nick Minnerath and Doug Anderson a victory in their final regular-season home game.Ray McCallum led the Titans (19-10, 11-4 Horizon League) with 22 points. Minnerath scored 21, and Anderson had 14.The Ramblers (14-15, 4-11) got 20 points from Jordan Hicks. Christian Thomas, who scored a career-high 31 points in Saturday’s loss to Kent State, had 15 points and 10 rebounds. Loyola shot 53 percent from the floor but committed 15 turnovers.The victory kept Detroit within a game of Horizon League leader Valparaiso, which beat Youngstown State later Tuesday. Both teams play their last regular-season conference game Saturday: Valpo at UW-Green Bay, Detroit at UIC.
