SIU big on second chance point to beat CSU

Mamadou Seck scored 17 points and Southern Illinois beat Chicago State 75-61 Saturday.The Salukis (4-4) outpaced the Cougars 18-5 on offensive rebounds and had a 20-6 advantage on second-chance points over the Cougars (2-7).Seck, making his first start for the Salukis, had 14 rebounds, two assists and was 7 of 11 from the field.Carlton Fay and Gene Teague each scored 12 points, and Teague pulled down seven rebounds. Jack Crowder added nine points, and Troy Long contributed eight.Carl Montgomery led the Cougars with 29 points, seven rebounds and one assist. Montgomery shot 10 of 14 from the field and 9 of 14 from the free-throw line. Victor Scott and Sean Montgomery each added 10 points and four rebounds.
