ISU beats Morehead State in CBI first round. Home game with Texas A &M next

NORMAL — An eight-point halftime lead was down to one Wednesday night three and a half minutes into the second half. Illinois State’s basketball team was in need of a lift in its first-round College Basketball Invitational game against Morehead State.Junior guard Daishon Knight obliged, sinking a 3-pointer and adding two free throws moments later to kick-start a 19-9 surge, giving the Redbirds a 57-46 lead on the way to a 77-67 victory at Redbird Arena.A crowd of 2,080 watched Knight score a team-high 18 points as ISU (17-15) advanced to a quarterfinal home game on Monday night against Texas A&M. The Aggies (18-15), who downed Wyoming on Wednesday night, will be the first Southeastern Conference team to play at Redbird Arena. The start time will be announced later.
